refreshing film

just been to see a lonely place to die... very refreshing.. ok, so it's not 'a feminist film' - in fact, it's not feminist at all given it's about men kidnapping a little girl... and it's a pretty low denominator action film... not arty or worthy

BUT

it's got a woman in the lead in an action film, and she doesn't take her clothes off, and she doesn't shag anybody, and she doesn't even talk about relationships or men, and there's no 'sexual tension' and there's another strong woman in it (even though she dies) and it was just so bloody refreshing.

is not very refreshing title though is it?

nope. but it refers to the little girl that is rescued from the kidnappers - not to the main character (woman) who rescues her. in fact, the main character although shot at and chased is never really a 'victim' she is always an 'action hero' and i think that's what's refreshing.
