when you engage with the trolls

. . . is it a personal thing (actually engaging emotionally) or are you communicating with a wider, more silent audience or are there other motivations?

I can't work out why more people don't ignore them, but every now and then the exchanges are unintentionally funny or interesting - although mostly it gets very dull very quickly. Wondering what's in it for them too.

AnyFucker · 05/09/2011 21:39

nah, mitch, they have gone to sulk because we wouldn't share our iscuits with 'em

or their mummy sent 'em to bed

AnyFucker · 05/09/2011 21:39

iscuits ?

AnyFucker · 05/09/2011 21:41

that's your prerogative, sm, of course

you look a bit silly though, since no-one else is fighty

anybody would think you were looking for a row

perhaps you could find a fight with yourself, that would work quite well I think, some people have a knack for that

AnyFucker · 05/09/2011 21:42

...now what was that about a "hide poster" button ?

scottishmummy · 05/09/2011 21:43

right so straight up whats been happening
i do not mnhq have asserted feminist board is for all

not a so called feminist safe space,as some have tried to suggest.yep its open forum if you seek safe space and particular leaning, then it aint mn open forum. so people need to ease up on cat say that on feminist boards

Did we really used to be able to spot trolls?

scottishmummy · 05/09/2011 22:00

it quite obviously means open forum.views can be posted as contentious as they are

yes, across mn the most innocuous threads get contentious and there no special consideration for feminist board.genuinely if you seek a higher moderation, specific posting rules...then an open discursive forum isnt going to satisfy

and the rub is that's how many people have expressed malaise (myself included) with feminist board-it does feel too prescriptive. not particularly always open on an open forum.and too quick to name call

and actually yes you can opine anywhere on mn dittanty.that's the point

and thats the selling point, the pleasure and pain is any post, potentially any range of responses.so yes you dont need to hold back only post on feminist board, and nor does anyone else need think cant say that on feminsit board thats the point. post away on style and beauty,or camping r us.whatever

and accept feminist board is also open to all opinion
