[[http://www.facebook.com/pages/You-know-shes-playing-hard-to-get-when-your-chasing-her-down-an-alleyway/227051983998683?sk=wall facebook has had complaints about this page, but hey it's still there.

And we don't need feminism. (Or grammar apparently, but that's not the main issue right now) Hmm

sorry - didnt covert my link there!

DontCallMePeanut · 08/08/2011 15:36

Shared the page on FB, with little note about rape being unreported and minimised. 4 people have already let me know they've reported it, within three minutes

msrisotto · 08/08/2011 15:44

I reported it for credible threat of violence.

I'm sure it does no harm to mix it up a bit.

weeonion · 08/08/2011 15:45

DCMP - that's great. i hate driving any traffic towards it but it needs to be reported if there is any chance of it being taken down. i dont know how many reports it takes to actually trigger action by facebook. spoke to my local journo who may do a piece on it.

HandDivedScallopsrgreat · 08/08/2011 15:46

I just reported it under Hate.

DontCallMePeanut · 08/08/2011 15:54

ghaaah, a friend has just "liked" the page. Time to head for the defriend button... :/

DontCallMePeanut · 08/08/2011 15:57

I've reported it twice; once for "credible threat of violence" and once for "hate speech based on gender or sexuality"

weeonion · 09/08/2011 16:38

its still there .........

stewie - i reported it also and know alot of others that have. Lets just see how long it takes to get it taken down (if ever). Funny how they can get breastfeeding pics down pretty sharpish when it suits.

meanwhile its membership just keeps on growing............

I've reported it for hate speech based on gender. what a repugnant page though.

weeonion · 10/08/2011 16:55

kveta - there are dozens of them out there. I dont share the view that it is all just a laugh and harmless. I also wonder what some of their friends / partners/ family members think when they see that someone they are 'friends" with on facebook "likes" this type of stuff or goes as far to post a "LMAO" comment. How might any of their real life friends / partners/ family members who are survivors of such violence and abuse react to when they see that they have 'liked' these kind of groups.

KellyKettle · 10/08/2011 17:06

Sickening. I've reported it too.

I might post some pics of me breastfeeding 2.6yr. DD. That will probably get it shut down in minutes.

AliceTwirled · 14/08/2011 20:58

It's still up which isn't unusual.

Yes breastfeeding get's taken down in a instant. Angry

weeonion · 18/08/2011 13:38

Apparently facebook have issued a statement about this page. I cant find it but reposting from the comments below a Huffington Post piece www.huffingtonpost.com/barbara-hannah-grufferman/does-facebook-condone-a-c_b_926309.html-

"We want Facebook to be a place where people can openly discuss issues and express their views whilst respecting the rights and feeling of others.

We have now more than 750m people around the world of varying opinions and ideals using Facebook as a place to discuss and share things that are important to them.

We sometimes find people discussing and posting about controversial topics

It is very important to point out that what one person finds offensive another can find entertaining - just as telling a rude joke won?t get you thrown out of your local pub, it won?t get you thrown off Facebook.?

Some of the replies have reinstored my faith in men though. Especially Dave Cantwell's reply to Matthew Kiefer:

Matthew Kiefer
Every women I have ever been with has at one time or another told me they have rape fantasys, I have talked to many others who have told me they to have had them. It doesn't mean they want the real thing to happen but what the hell? I would never do such a disgusting thing to any women but I have been asked to act like I am. What is that all about?

.Dave Cantwell to be fair though, looking at your profile picture, are you sure they didnt just assume rape came as part of the package

PamBeesly · 18/08/2011 17:00

There was also a group a few months ago (I can't find the link now apologies) called 'Some people call it rape, I call it a struggle snuggle' I reported it and emailed facebook but I got no reply. I was sickened how many females 'liked' it. The sad thing is so many women thinik they 'have' to like this kind of violent aggression
