I find this story very creepy. OK, it's been denied but I do hope the poor woman isn't being forced into marriage.

How awful Sad. can't imagine what it must be like to want to go home (to your mum) to escape an unhappy marraige and then be bullied persuaded to stay in what is then essentially a prison of luxury.

Awful

This interests me. We have a successful woman, yet she's "trapped" into marriage?

Aside from it seeming to be only the red-tops and chat shows that give this rumour any credence: does the ease with which this (much denied, including from her side) rumour has taken route and struck a chord, speak of a wider patriarchal assumption that females are inherently weak and controllable?

If (and it's a big if) she had changed her mind, it's pretty hard to envisage the weddings being cancelled! This isn't quite like the Windsor wedding which was to shore up the monarchy, improve its popular appeal ahead of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, take the public's mind off the public sector cuts (virtually all the public royal weddings in Britain have taken place in times of austerity for the public) etc. It's a PR exercise, too but Monaco is in financial difficulties. The wedding was planned as an event to attract tourism and investment. There were commercial sponsors (lexus provided the wedding car, I think). It's not hard to imagine that if either party had expressed doubts, those would have to be cast aside. If either had changed their mind, there would need to be pressure exerted for it to go ahead.

She can maybe leave anyway if she provides heirs. Albert seems pretty free-wheeling...

So should they actually doo the deed - maybe she'll insist by IVF - and she produces an heir and spare - she can leave - but what about her kids?

No wonder Grace took to the bottle. I was aware Albert was a free-wheeler, but it seems he has unprotected sex all over the place - not quite what I'd fancy my Dh to do, no matter how much money he has .

Albert comes out as very uncaring and controlling in this (sorry about the pun) and the pics of him looking so harsh when CW is weeping in the church, bode very badly for him being in anyway sensitive to his bride. He looks like a thug.

I hope she gets an annulment asap. I don't think she'll get any help from her folks.
Her family think they've 'won the world cup' - and people were complaining that doors-to-manual et al were grabby!!!

I read somewhere that she felt she had made only two friends in Monaco even after a few years of living there. That is terribly sad.
