My Fault I'm Female

This is a great blog about incidents that happen to us purely because of our gender and nothing else.

Its a good read and I thought we could have a dicussion based on the sorts of things that happen in this way.

For instance I live near an underpass that I have to cross quite often and is very well travelled and well lit etc. However it also seems to be a favorite spot for men and boys to hang out either in groups or alone to harrass women. I have been shouted at, followed, grabbed, called names, been propositioned and just plain scared there often in the two years I have been living here. This has even happened when my DP is with me and he is never addressed, nor are any men walking alone in that area.

Its because it's my fault I'm female.

I can relate to the MIL/food ones. Why do they think that their adult sons need looking after or that part of your role as a wife/partner is to make sure they are well fed!! My mum never asks my husband if he's feeding me.
