Ive just seen some of the documentary hardcore on YouTube. It wasnt all of if it as I couldn't find it all but it was the part where she went to see Max Hardcore up to the point where she wanted to leave as he had been suffocated her.

I hadn't given much thought to the industry before. I didnt think the women went in to it wanted to but I didn't realise quite how much they could be forced in to it. Am I wrong or did he basically rape and abuse her? It also frightens me that if that's what shown on a documentary then it's the tip of the iceberg.

I don't know what the point of this post is really. I think I am just so horrified I need to talk about it with someone.

There are a few amazing posters in this section on the topic of porn. They really know their stuff. I'm sure one of them will post something in reply to this shortly. From my own POV I think you are right to be horrified.

I have made a huge about-turn on the subject of porn thanks to this section of MN. I used to believe it was fine until I was shown some stats demonstrating that the vast majority of porn features vulnerable women who didn't really have a choice (even though some of them may have thought they made a choice) and nearly all of it objectifies women to a horrifying degree.

I don't know if it's stupid pregnancy hormones but I honestly feel like crying. I hope someone who has seen it can tell me what happened. I really hope she went home and didn't carry on.

I think I had this naive thought that the majority women in porn choose to do it. Now I think they are probably young, vulnerable women who have been manipulated.

After reading the article I don't think I could face watching it, but I'm so glad she was brave enough to let this be shown as a warning to others.

I haven't watched it yet as I'm horrified by the descriptions and don't know if I could but that thread was one of the ones in this section which helped me clarify my views on porn and how unacceptable I find it.

Thanks for the info, I will settle down to read it once dd is in bed. It will make a change from my Cathy Kelly!! I live in the north west so wouldn't be able to go to the screening. I wish I could.
