I have been looking into to the recent detentions of Ms Maryam Bahreman and Ms Mahbubeh Karami as a result of their involvement in a signature campaign -There is international concern for their welfare and safety. The Observatory for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders, the World Organisation Against Torture (OMCT) and the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH. )made an urgent appeal for intervention on 17 May 2011 - details of which were forwarded to Amnesty International.
News coverage has been scant - The petition outlines the difficult situation regarding detentions in Iran -please sign and share -
Thank you

thank you for bringing this to our attention. we should support these people in whatever way we can, and not just stand by. We are so lucky here that we have our freedom and we don't really appreciate it.

I hope more people look at this link and support you!

reading, thinking and creating a dialogue mean that we can focus on life
and lives outside the immmediate domestic circle..signing a petition, commenting, talking etc are part of the process of conscious and conscience raising.
The women imprisoned because of their involvement in campaigns we would pass by in the street - have families, friends, parents and children.
We live in a changing world, where humanity, dignity and compassion are worth preserving in the face of hostility, and repression from many parties.
thanks for your support -
