Wanted to share this article about sexism

This was written by a friend's daughter from Cambridge university - no doubt she'll face a bit of a backlash from within the uni for it but I was so proud of her and thought it would bolster her a bit for some more people to read it in the wider public. - you can facebook 'like' to encourage! www.varsity.co.uk/opinion/3575

Thank you so much for your support mumsnetters - she was very touched by the extra 'likes' and I've showed her your encouraging comments which meant a lot to her as I think this is a subject very close to her heart.
WillieWaggledagger - yes she's certainly hoping to write more and would love to work as a writer so this is a real boost to her confidence - thank you all!

grrr that's the whole point the article is making! That this kind of 'gentle' peer pressure to shut up and not make a fuss is exactly why we're still struggling with these subtle forms of sexism!
