Broadcasting House, this morning, Radio 4. Anyone hear? Sue McGregor forchrissakes and some other woman going on about how women should be aware that if they dress in a certain way, they will "trigger" certain responses from men. Presumably the response being rape or sexual assault, or harrassment at the minimum.
So I've zipped off a swift rant to them about how insulting it is to imply that a provocatively dressed woman triggers rape or sexual assault in any man except a rapist or sexual predator and since most men aren't rapists or sexual predators, there's no need for women to be careful about what they wear as it's only if they are in the company of a rapist that they will be at risk of rape.
I urge you all to complain. Our licence fees are paying for these rape myths to be broadcast.
