Reaction of women to this situation really really pissed me off. Waht do you think ?

Title says it all really. There were several of us whom shared the same opinion that this was totally unacceptable and couldnt believe the reaction this thread got. Id like a few of your views on the subject if i may. Perves at the gym

I posted on that thread - and said that we should all have done the OP the courtesy of believing that she knew whether someone was making her very uncomfortable or not!
It is amazing to me that on that sort of thread the woman is always accused of thinking she is gorgeous - as if men who wish to intimidate only bother looking at 'gorgeous' women. And completely missing the point that 'perving' like that is not about fancying someone but about intimidating them and making a power play over them. It really is just one step from that attitude to 'well, she was raped but she asked for it dressed like that'. Positively scary attitudes.

The problem is as women we are socialised into being grateful to recieve male attention so when a woman challenges that idea it makes others uncomfortable.
