Oh my, just watching a 'Hallowe'en Horror' episode on C4 today, three parta

first one was something Ned Flanders, I admit I didn't see it

second, was based on a Jack The Ripper incident, lots of cartoon scenes involving buxom prostitutes with 'go on duckie, 'ave a goby a victorian lass, then ..

a 'patty/selma' look-a-like being judged as dead because of her looks but she comes back from the dead (she is bloodily stabbed with a knife in her heart (stabbing not seen), bloodied knife hanging out, yes, we see this as she speaks) to justify her [sic] 'bloated' looks.

Then comes a 'Fantastic Voyage' scenario where Marge is floating about in a skimpy costume with mahoosive boobs...

... Simpsons sexist?

are you serious?? This is hilarious!

Katiekitty · 25/03/2011 18:41

Christ, I don't make sense!

In the episode, there's a Victorian style, corset-wearing 'wench' who obviously gets killed, as she's a whore, obv, then other women characters are pitched as victims...

... this is a cartoon for children that depicts prostitutes in the music-hall style

... 'asking for trade'

and the childeren, Lisa and Bart solve the crime with English accents, because, of course, England is no stranger to prostitiutes being murdered...

I didn't like it

The Simpsons isn't a children's cartoon. It's aimed at adults.

CotswoldCountryMummy · 25/03/2011 18:49

Bertie's right. it's not directed at kids. It's adult themes in cartoon format. It's got a strong moral/political agenda.
