met a friend for breakfast yesterday. got this message from him last night.

"Thanks 4 the fry earlier still feel bad bout using a woman's money to pay"

i have responded to him over numerous messages and amongst others, got this as a reply

"Ok, can't remember that woman's name who burnt her bra, but your close to earning her status"

seriously??? really?? because i asked him to stop treating me differently than his male friends!!

there's a pretty good reason why he can't remember who burnt her bra - because that woman never actually existed (thank you Snopes).

Did you text back saying "if you're comparing me to the brave women who fought for equal pay etc then all I can say is thanks"? :o

oh i texted back ALOT of stuff. he responded at one point with

"the whole arguement is flawed, when it comes to work women can do the same as men, also sports, and day to day things etc. Etc. But women fought for yrs to be treated equal, and most of them yap about not bein treated special, and different. Especially the 1s that think they are a but above everyone. yes i asked him to explain what exactly i had said that was extreme. interestingly, this was when he replied that he was just winding me up.

BTW all i asked was that he treat me the same as he would a male friend.

yes. i totally see what you mean. i think when i said it i was trying to make the point with him that he was making a difference in the way he treated me because i am a woman. TBH i think this 'friendship' will become more of an acquaintance because the more i get to know him the more i see that he is sexist and doesn't see it at all. i really can't be bothered trying to explain to him why what he does offends me though.

yes i totally get it and i totally agree with you. i think i was dumbing down to try and give it an angle he could understand. he doesn't have female friends, was completely flummoxed when i told him i wasn't interested in a relationship with him but that i was quite happy to be friends. apparantley this means "she's just playing hard to get". unfortunately for him i had to clarify my position in a pub surrounded by his friends. think it's safe to say this one is a no-goer friendship wise.

really TSC?? that must be so infuriating. i hate that people would be friends with me because they cling on to the hope that i will one day shag them. seriously!! i have a brain, i can hold a conversation!!

oh i still have to take my own bin out but i like it that way. I've had my fill of tripping over other people's shite. at least when i trip over my boyfriend's shite i know it's in his room and it's staying there
