This got me thinking, it's about feminine architecture

the female form

Maybe this is the wrong topic to post it in, but it just made me think, when women compete in very male areas of life, do they just emulate the accepted 'male' view? Or is there no such thing anyway?

don't know much about this, but there was a post on feministing recently about women architects

I'm thinking of The Gherkin after reading that. Thanks for the link. If irc Germaine Greer has written quite a lot on architecture.

I think I remember reading something ages ago (hazy), but not sure what would make a building more feminine. With regard to skyscrapers, they make it possible to accommodate a lot using a much smaller ground space, but they are always going to look like willies. I don't know how it would differ whether it was a male or female designer.

Thanks sm - I was thinking Islamic/Asian architecture tends to be very different to our phalic stuff.
