Sakineh Protest - London, Saturday

Via WVoN

As regular readers of WVoN will know (read the most recent story here), the life of Iranian woman Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, hangs in the balance. Literally.

We would therefore urge anyone who can get to London on Sunday to please attend a silent protest outside the Iranian embassy at 4pm. The address is 16 Prince?s Gate, SW7 1PT.

Also, bring candles. At 5pm, we will walk silently away, leaving our burning candles behind.

We want the Iranian authorities to understand that we are standing in solidarity against the process and punishment Sakineh, her son and lawyer face in Iran.

The organisers are looking for people to join the silent protest as well as photographers and any press who would be willing to cover the story.

For those not familiar with this tragic story, please go to the website of the International Committee against Stoning.

I won't be able to make it but I hope you get a good turn out.

A very worthy cause.

I can't go either as don't live anywhere near London.
