After seeing so many anti-porn comments here, I was wondering if there are any other feminists here who share the same views as I do. Are any other feminists here who are against censorship?

What is pro porn? Not the same as against censorship is it? Being pro porn is ignoring the vast bank of information that says many porn actors are coerced, exploited and addicted to drugs.

Bit like saying I am a vegetarian but I love a good hunt.

hmm, I know lots of feminists who used to be pro-porn but have changed their mind due to the violence, the ubiquity and the obvious harm done by the porn out there today.
And quite a few people who would be in favour of nice non-woman-hating porn in a utopia in which men and women were equal, women weren't constantly objectified, and women were as much in control of production as men, but regretfully accept that the world isn't like that.

I wanted to reply to this thread but didn't quite know how to articulate my stance. However, Sethstarkaddersmum has nicely summed up my position!

Porn is censorship.

It censors women's appearance and sexuality and presents a one-dimensional view of how sex is, from one perspective - that of the male. The woman-hating male at that. (And yes I know you're going to tell me that there's other porn out there, but we're talking about the mainstream market now, yes?
