is it too late for someone to get help with abuse when it happened years ago?

is getting help with this actually a good thing or can it make someone feel even worse?if someone got help but the abuse happened years ago-would they be taken seriously?

Thankyou theButterflyEffect

yep-im Talking about a councellor or someone like this.
aswell-im wondering whether it is possible to change things after such a long time-
say like-someone is ok in the daytime but at nightime all the ghosts[so to speak]come out

and-supposing someone has mistrusted people for such a long time-could they ever learn to trust?

thankyou for telling me this-im pleased you got help.

I don't think it is ever too late. A local rape crisis might offer some counselling also there is a good forum at the Pandora's Project - Pandora's Aquarium.

My own experience of therapy was that it did feel worse before it felt better but I am glad I did it.
