War on Women article

I posted about an article on feminism in Stylist magazine a while ago (I swear I do not work for them). They have just done another, much harder hitting, article called 'War on Women.'

It is rather depressing but if anyone asks me in the future why I am a feminist, I will be telling them some of the stats from that article. It can be read at the Stylist website. I am quite astonished that they have published such an article in a light hearted fashion magazine.

the fashion magazines know which issues women really care about, and know that publishing them is the best way to get women to buy their magazines.

I think this Half the Sky book is going to provoke a lot more articles like this. What's good about it is that AFAIK it points out that woman-hating is at the root at a lot of the problems that women face. It sounds obvious, but people are so ready to come up with an explanation of why, just because 99% of women are paid peanuts (or whatever) this isn't sexism, it's just coincidence or something.

That's so shocking, seeing it all laid out like that. Truly horrifying. It will be interesting to see what other articles appear due to Half the Sky.
