I have actually spoken to one of the women in this, she is highly intelligent and very independant. Despite the way she is quoted in the show and the article, she does work and does very well in her job. She is in no way hampered by the way she chooses to live.

They are living in a way that makes them both happy, so I don't see what is so scary about it?
