My sister and I were talking about how a section is more painful but you seem to get less life long health issues.

So what are your going issues due to having a vaginal birth?

None but down there looks a little different as I imagine a c section tummy would

Cinderella25 · 11/02/2020 11:07

I’ll start backache, looseness, lack of friction and dyspareunia.

Mild prolapse

Ginfordinner · 12/02/2020 22:59

None for me. But I realise that I have been lucky.

Ninkanink · 12/02/2020 23:02

None, thankfully. I had good, easy labours. I was very fortunate that everything was straightforward.

cidersupernova · 12/02/2020 23:05

Painful episiotomy scar 8 years on, particularly if I’m on my feet all day (such as working) it gets very sore and painful.

Incontinence issues from forceps delivery.

OneOfManyDays · 16/02/2020 20:55

Mild prolapse. Hemoroids and Anal fissure which still tears 4 years on and means I'm on stool softeners daily to avoid pain (if I miss a dose I'm in pain for weeks). And things don't quite look the same.

I had an uncomplicated pool birth. v small 1degree tear - so lifelong issues can result from these births too!

whatisheupto · 16/02/2020 21:01

Mild prolapse, incontinence, sore scar tissue from tears. Sound like an elderly lady but I'm a sprightly young mum! Wish I'd had c sections.

lljkk · 16/02/2020 21:04

nothing I'm aware of, 4births

BumbleNova · 16/02/2020 21:06

None! I had quite a lot of stitches but all fine. It took a while to heal but sex is actually better 😉.

Lots of squats sorted any pelvic floor issues.

onedream · 16/02/2020 21:07

Bladder prolapse

Pipnik · 16/02/2020 21:07

Mild prolapse, piles.

Thoughtlessinengland · 16/02/2020 21:08

Absolutely none. 2 births.

Yesterdayforgotten · 16/02/2020 21:09

None for me, everything is fine and was surprised how there isn't any difference down there, it healed and went back to normal. No pelvic or bladder issues either. I was very lucky and relieved I had two VBs and managed to avoid c sections and scars.

ClubfootMaestro · 16/02/2020 21:09

Prolapse, painful episiotomy.

Totally agree you are less likely to have ongoing issues from a section, and those that there are tend to be less distressing (there will be exceptions but eg a numb abdominal scar vs eg your rectum hanging out of your vagina and never enjoying sex again)

Having a section this time.

Afterthestorm65 · 16/02/2020 21:10

Episiotomy scar I still feel every time I sit down - “baby” is 40 now.

I despair when I read on here of some of the treatments and interventions mothers are still enduring.

RiddleyW · 16/02/2020 21:13

Nothing major, one very straightforward birth but I do have some pelvic floor weakness.

BedraggledBlitz · 16/02/2020 21:16

Incontinence, so I have to wear a light tena liner every day.

Also not sure if its scar tissue or what but it's hard to clean after a poo.

I was forceps and episiotomy.

Helini · 16/02/2020 21:16

Severe prolapse, stress incontinence, 3rd degree tear that got infected.

My whole vulva looks like it's been in a car crash. I have strech marks on my arms, back, calfs and wrists! PND, anxiety and PTSD after the most horrific birth and aftercare.

DS will be an only child.

OhTheRoses · 16/02/2020 21:17

Bladder prolapse and repair years ago.
A weak anal sphincter - manifested 20 years later
Rectocele

I had easy births. DS was posterior and I had only a tiny tear.

If I had known I'd have had a section. There's tons of research.

AdultHumanFemale · 16/02/2020 21:17

Ultra sensitive skin around vaginal opening.
For a couple of years I had a very mild prolapse, but losing the baby weight seems to have got rid of that.
Diastasis recti.
On the upside, I now have awesome, effortless vaginal orgasms in a way I never did before. Some sort of neural rewiring. Definitely an unexpected bonus.

Kittykat93 · 16/02/2020 21:28

Op why is a section more painful? I couldn't walk properly for weeks after giving birth vaginally. Nearly 2 and a half years on and I have chronic back pain still from a long pushing stage (2 and a half hours). I would have preferred a section, I was traumatised after giving birth.

MashedSpud · 16/02/2020 21:30

None. Two births.

minipie · 16/02/2020 21:35

Me - nothing. Physically my two vaginal deliveries were fairly easy.

My child - cerebral palsy. She got stuck for too long and nobody intervened until I bloody asked them to.

nokia3210567 · 16/02/2020 21:44

Hi I know you didn't ask but I had a csection but still have life long issues from pregnancy and the section

-I still have spd which started in pregnancy causes me pain daily

  • I can't feel half of my stomach it is still numb from the section
  • I get an 'itchy' scar but because of the numbness it's actually impossible to relieve

-Still get haemarroids from being pregnant

  • the dreaded section 'pooch' overhang that no amount of dieting and exercise will budge

-my vagina is also different even though I didn't give birth vaginally. I think the hormones and the pressure of the baby have had a lot of impact on the way it looks and also how it feels. Sex has never felt the same.
