More butterflies this year?

Has anyone noticed so many more butterflies this year in their garden? I’ve got loads and of different types. I love them.

Google is telling me populations are drastically down over the last few years so maybe it’s just a weird thing happening in my garden.

I came here to say this too, yesterday in the garden especially there were so many and this morning on the school run we saw quite a few. It's really lovely to see.

I’ve noticed lots more out and about, but mostly cabbage whites I think.

I have been saying this for a few weeks and googled it today and came across this thread.
I have noticed a mix in the garden but can’t tell what most are from a distance other than the cabbage whites.
There also seem to be many more flies, too - I know they have an important role but wish they would stay out of my kitchen. They seem to be able to get on quite easily but can never find their way out!

Yes! Brimstones, Commas, Red Admirals, Peacocks, Tortoiseshell, Painted Ladies and Holly Blues.

Takes me right back to childhood.
