the Tales in the City books by Armistead Maupin- I have 6 or 7 on my shelves.
I loved them... hedonistic gay sex in the pre and post Aids era.
Has anyone else got fond memories of them?

Also Pat Conroy- Prince of Tides, Lords of Discipline etc- wonderful.

Loved them! Got into them when I was a student because I think channel 4 ran a series late at night when I got home from work. Alas, I only have a couple - didn't realise there were more. What are 3 onwards called?

Ha ha - have finally had time to get back on to computer and have found them! Isn't amazing how children make your day literally disappear - I went off at twenty to three to make a cup of tea and look them up, and this is me finally getting to do both things. DH tends to get in the way as well - tee hee! Anyway, think I have found them:
Babycakes · Significant Others · Sure of You · Michael Tolliver Lives
Have read tales, more tales and further tales, so am off to the library tomorrow armed with my list to see what I can find. And off to bed tonight with Tales. You have inspired me - thanks!
