Writing Group, Oxfordshire/Bucks area

Is anyone interested in being in a writing group? I'm trying to finish a book, and really want to find or form a group for serious writers needing a bit of support/encouragement? I was in one in london but was a bit far to travel, and quite a few people dropped in and out and weren't that serious. Looking to join or form a group where we can encourage eachother, and take it seriously!

I would be interested. Fair warning. I'm in the middle of my PhD and will have some conferences and meetings to attend (mostly in the summer), but with that said I am interested in getting back into my writing.

In the past I was in a writing group (it was a genre fiction group of about 15 people writing mystery, romance, fantasy and one person writing supernatural/horror) for five years and attended regularly. I'm not that keen personally to be published, but I enjoy sharing with a small group my work and to encourage others with their work. I understand the difference between criticism and constructive criticism. I do not have a background in reading and critiquing poetry. Christian romance is also an area I am not that familiar with and honestly have no interest in reading. Just so you know the pros and cons of my being in your group.

Please let me know if you would be interested in my joining your group.

I live in central Oxford near the Ashmolean Museum to give you some idea about meeting places that would work best for me. Though I am happy to meet people halfway if it is out of town as long as it is on a regularly running bus line and not ridiculously far away.

I should also say I joined Mumsnet to respond to your post, but I am not a mum and have no immediate plans to become one. Don't know if you care about that or not.
