They were talking about whether we are attracted to books because of their covers, being recommended to us or their blurbs. They were broadcasting from a book store I think and seemed to be asking members of the public what they thought of different blurbs and whether they would read the book.
The presenter then read out a comment from a listener about a book that she had bought based on a recommendation in part of the blurb and she said the book 'would stay with her forever" or something similar. i think it had the word dog in the title.

Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about????

TIA

sorry, 'hear' and not 'here' and I've found it.

Love that dog by Sharon Creech for anyone who is interested...

I heard that and thought, 'Ooh must remember that. It sounds good'.

Was it the one with the mysterious blurb saying it didn't want to ruin the book by telling us anything?

no, that was one of the books at the beginning and I cant remember the name of that one either!!
The dog book was quite near the end of the programme, when Winnifred says "we asked our listeners to tell us about their blurbs...." (I've just listened to the podcast, can you tell? )

Is the book in question The Curious Incident of the Dead Dog or something similar?
