The first part had me absolutely captivated, by now I'm on page 205 it seems a bit like a Sci Fi.

I've read it. Thought it was just okay. Nothing really happens tbh but I quite liked the idea. I didn't find it too sci-fi, just a bit nothingy. The narrator was too cold a person for my liking; lets the other girl walk all over her and seems very emotionless, even at the end when you'd think she might show a bit of humanity.

read it and loved it.

this is going to sound so pretentious - but isn't that typical of an Ishiguro hero/heroine that they present as emotionless whereas in fact there is a lot of denial/suppressed emotion underneath?
