I picked this up a couple of weeks ago at the airport (not sure if is available in the UK yet), and while some is really well written, I am struggling.
Basically the main character has a brief affair with a girl (within the first few pages), then it ends and his life falls apart. This happens within first 100 pages. I am now 2/3 way through the book and bored stupid. Chapter 63 FGS!
It had good reviews and was compared to Lolita, Mme Bovary and Anna Karenina.
