Anyone read this? Just picked it up and started reading it. Just curious what other people think.

I'm reading this. Has a dated charm.

Love it. One of my faves.

linz76 · 25/06/2010 21:40

I read it a good number of years ago, I really enjoyed it

elkiedee · 30/06/2010 14:52

I read it when I was young and then last year to write a review for a friend's website. I really enjoyed it. There's a fascinating chapter when one of the characters gives birth.

I'm about 100 pages in. I'm LOVING it!!!! What a gem!

Another vote here! It's marvellous and I love seeing how relationships were in those days. Very interesting to see all the social interaction and how the Bright Young Things of that day acted in public and behind closed doors.

I have however now started to call everything 'snazzy'! But I do quite like the word and it's better that everything being 'phat'!

Oh my god! Just read the chapter about breast feeding! Some things really haven't changed, but others have - the 'supplementary bottle' bit. This book is marvellous.

Yes, I found that chapter fascinating.

MayorNaze · 07/07/2010 17:29

yes - read few weeks ago - reminds me of somethig else but can't quite think what - love the diaphragm bit in a black humour sort of way

BeckyBendyLegs · 07/07/2010 17:41

Oh yes the diaphragm description was really tragic / funny. I loved that she left it under a bench in the park!
