Never heard of it. What sort of book and style is it?

Loshad · 18/06/2010 23:05

thought it was pretty cr*p tbh, had it recomended but thought it was twee and rather unlikely

Anna. Is about a father who has an autistic son. He takes him on a horseback trek across Mongolia to see shamans to try to find healing for the boy. Is really moving.
Loshad, unlikely? It is a true story accompanied by a documentary, and the father has now started an equine therapy centre.

Oh i know it's a true story, just think the whole idea of being able to "cure" his severly autistic son by a quick blessing from the shamans is .........

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 19/06/2010 15:57

But it's not about a cure. He never says the boy is no longer autistic. It's about helping him and improving his condition. The boy is still autistic at the end of the book, but his problems are less severe. It could have nothing whatever to do with the shamans.

i read it last summer and absolutely loved it. in fact it inspired me to write a book myself (on something completely different) which I got published a few months later! Just thought it was a beautiful human interest story, with a dramatic scenic backdrop.
