Two weeks ago there was a full page ad for a book on the back page of the Guardian review section.

It was a novel, looked to be set in wartime and the graphics were of a woman in a headscarf under a dark sky with searchlights overhead.

I'm sure the title had the word star or stars in it.

I've scoured the review pages since, and amazon, and can't locate this book! I think it must be a new release hence the advert.

DP has taken the papers to be recycled so no joy there.

Massive thanks to anybody who can name this book from the scant details given!

have been searching every possible avenue I can think of for the last half hour and still nothing. I thought it was 'Forever Yours' by M J Smith which is being released this year and the front cover is dark skies and a man and woman but she's wearing a hat not a headscarf!

luciemule · 06/06/2010 23:17

this?

MorrisZapp · 07/06/2010 13:06

Thanks so much for searching lucie but that's not it!

Back to the drawing board...

Hello - didn't think it would be - my eyes went crazy last night. It was driving me mad not being able to find it so will have another look today if I get chance.

Morris, wad it 'Little Gods' by Anna Richards? If so, I saw that page in the Grauniad and was also intrigued....haven't tracked down the book yet, though...

MrsDickens · 07/06/2010 15:34

That should be 'was', obviously.....iPod keyboard too small! Can't find a pic with the cover you describe, but I've just seen it in Waterstone's and I'm pretty sure it must be that.

MrsMills · 07/06/2010 15:49

Was it one of these covers?

MorrisZapp · 07/06/2010 17:11

YES

It was Little Gods.

Thanks Mrs Dickens! Apologies for thinking that star was in the title.

Now that I think of it, I think maybe there was a strap line in the advert that said 'it made stars of them all' or similar but not in book title.

Thanks so much!

Heehee - that's so funny OP - I saw this one and dismissed as it didn't have star/stars in title.
Oh well - at least you know what it is now.
