OK, OK. Vamp-porn it is. TBH I usually refer to it as vampire porn (between a pal and myself who have very similar reading habits ... and an evil sense of humour) but thought to err on the side of caution. Should have known to "call a spade a spade" as evil suggests. When my DH did ask what I was reading and I told him he was quite surprised ... probably though I didn't have it in me - lol.

Sandy: read the first couple of pages from your pdf and have ordered it for hols (we go away on Friday). She seemed to explain pretty much the whole premise in the first couple of pages, so not sure.

So read first Lords of the Underworld book on hols (I know - a real book!).

It didn't grab me by the balls like the Brothers did. Very similar premise and parallels with BDB run throughout. Shmexy supernatural being meets mere mortal woman - misunderstandings and lack of communication ensue, interspersed by sex scenes. All live HEA in the end.

The entire background was given away in the first couple of pages - took away a lot of the suspense that could have been. The HEA was so contrived it was almost laughable - similar vein to V/Jane.

What I thought she was setting up to be the pairing for the next book actually isn't - I suspect they will be a John Matthew-esque subplot running through the next couple of books.

Sex scenes not as well written as the Warden.

I did like the female leads - a bit feistier than the shellans (but with startling similarities - Ashlyn is the only person who has ever dared speak back/shouted at Maddox - very Beth/Wrath)

Definately a poor mans BDB. Equally bad names - Maddox, Reyes, Torin

I just didn't lust after them the way I did pretty much immediately with each of the Bhrothers.

Neon, im told these books do get a lot better - do you want the PDFs?

Read this on another forum. Apparently came directly from JRW at a book signing and I have heard some of it before but I'm always a bit sceptical about these kind of things.
I really hope there are no werewolves in this series. Not that I've anything against werewolves, it just seems late in the series to introduce them.

Hello, not posted on this thread before, but have read all the BDB books (Z and Butch are my faves), and could really do with any links to fanfic (ff.net is too tame, I suspect, to have any, can't seem to find it anyway), so if anyone feels like sharing, I would really really appreciate it!

I have been reading a little of it Sandy. I don't read a lot of BDB fanfic though - I think it's because the series isn't finished yet and if I see a great storyline in ff I'll be disappointed when the real thing comes out and goes in a different direction, IYKWIM??
