An uplifting inspirational Autobiog?

Hi

as the title states I'm in need of some inspiration!

I'm on the cusp of divorce, going it alone, getting back to work, stopping drinking for clarity etc etc.....

I'd love to read something at night that would make me feel that everything is going to be ok.

Any suggestions really greatly appreciated

Well I liked Gail Porter's 'Laid Bare', it describes her divorce, going back to work, breakdown, hair loss and recovery.

There are quite a few Sylvia Plath biogs, but they dont exactly have a happy ending.

Angela's Ashes is excellent.

An Evil Cradling by Brian Keenan. A really remarkable read

Thanks I'll have a look at those.

Someone mentioned Ruby Wax's autobiog as well. Supposed to be quite good.

This may sound a bit weird but perhaps "Colette" by judith Thurman. She had a variety of different phases in her life, and I found it cheering because it kind of suggests that a woman's life is not all packed into its beginning - and many of the best bits are towards the end.

And, my, she was a character.
