who the hell's anne geddes?

It kills me to admit Celine Dion is canadian. Very overjoyed that she resides in the US in Las Vegas (no surprise there). Canada's best export, and glad to see her go!

Anne Geddes is a photographer (American I believe) who does those photos of the babies in flowerpots, babies in bumblebee suits, photos and calandars (seem to see them alot in doctors offices). Sort of cute but a bit cheesey for my tastes.

I know she had a hard time getting a baby and she's rightly proud of it but Celine Dion the product (as opposed to the woman whom I don't know personally so I'm not going to be nasty) is just so out of control. Who buys her stuff / sees her live? Reminds me of Mr Blobby - somebody bought those records and made him Xmas number one but will they admit it?

I thought Anne Geddes was a Kiwi. Dh used to know a chap who worked for her.

To my horror, someone well-meaning bought me the Anne Geddes & Celine Dione calendar in January when I'd just had a baby. My dh uses it for his desk but has defaced the photos. I have to hide it when the woman who bought it comes round.

I was working a bookstore just before Christmas and we had a lovely big display of this book. It really is as bad as it looks. And it comes with a CD of Celine's gorgeous, sweeping tribute songs to babies who live in flowerpots, iirc...

I saw a short film on the making of this on This Morning a while ago. When the film stopped, phillip schofield's face was a picture! It's bad enough that these lovely newborns are embellished in this horrible cheesy way anyway without her big simpering face gurning next to them as well! Disgusterous...

Is Anne Geddes a Kiw? I thought she was american but don't really know. Any luck Celine Dion is kiwi as well???? Please??? I know for a fact canada would be happy to let you have her.

Yuck! I don't mind the Geddes pictures (although she seems to have a penchant for prem babies), except for when you can see the babies hate being in that hard flower pot or dressed as a bird/squirrel/tomato. In the pic of all the babies in terracota pots, there are a few in the background who are bright red in the face from crying. Involving Celine in anything is just wrong, wrong, wrong. PMSL at the sweeping tribute songs. Would just encourage DS to winge along instead of singing him to sleep, and I know for a fact that next door neighbours dog would howl along too. Awful scenario!
Incidently, does Geddes sign these babies up before they're born? i have an image of her waiting outside delivery suites nation/world wide, ready to ask if @i could hust take a couple of snaps?' like the awful Bounty photographers, badgering me to think straight hours after I have been through the most traumatic experience of my life!!!

Sil went to see Celine Dion live because "she has lovely shiny hair". Enough said. I think the whole thing is vile. People shouldn't be able to buy such tat - if I ever become Minister for Culture, I promise to ban it.

Celine Dion is definately from Montreal. Not Kiwi. Although if they want her, they can have her! Ugh.

Everyone hates her in Quebec, too, she cried when she met the pope. Gah.

I think one of DH's colleagues gave us a freaky Geddes book as a gift when we had DS1. I don't really like how newborns look, so I was even less impressed than you'd expressed.
