What are your favourite books?

brimfull · 02/04/2010 15:07

I like Margaret Forster sort of stuff.

And the family relationships etc in this book don't appeal to you?

I don't know. I'd stick pins in my eyes rather than read Margaret Forster, so what we appreciate in books might be too different for me to explain why I liked all three Millennium books.

There's more to the overall plot, (of the three books) than just the 'Harriet investigation' ggirl. You must at least finish the first book before you decide whether to pursue the following two.
I was hooked throughout the trilogy and know of so many others that were too. However, I guess it can't satisfy everyone's tastes.

I just read on another thread that you "hate sci-fi"

How can you "hate" sci-fi? Which sci-fi have you read?

HortensiaJo · 07/04/2010 21:34

I love Margaret Forster's stories too - although I'm not sure she's that great a writer.

Couldn't finish the first Millenium book, either. Shame- it's good to have a series of three to work through. Am going on holiday on Friday and have no idea which books to bring...

itsybitsy08 · 10/04/2010 21:01

I loved it, thought it took some getting into, but then i couldnt finish it fast enough!
On hoilday in two weeks so cant wait to get stuck into the next two with no interuptions!
Me personally i would finish it, but im one of those who simply cannot not finish a book! Even if i cant really be arsed! Give it a chance! Its not all about harriet

BigBadMummy · 11/04/2010 18:51

ahhhhh.... opened this thread as I am reading it and whilst enjoying it, I am finding it hard going with trying to keep track of everybody's name.

And now I learn that Harriet is alive.

Arse bugger bugger. Only on page 150 and Blomkvist is just starting his investigation.

Bum bum bum.... I should never have opened this blardy thread.

Rafaelo · 11/04/2010 18:57

aaaaaaah! I didn't realise what you were on about, gah! I'm half way through it. bugger.

itsybitsy08 · 11/04/2010 19:11

Awah dont worry! Its not just about the investigation and knowing shes alive doesnt spoil it! I think the actual end part of the book sets the scene for the next one! Which i cant wait to get stuck into on holiday in two weeks whoop
