I recently started - and gave up on - The American Wife. I really struggled with it

Ah, that's such a good book. The characters are lovely.

Yes I loved the Guernsey Potato Peel Pie book and have passed it onto friends who have also enjoyed it.
Now satarting Sarah Dunant's Sacred Hearts - a CH 4 Book Club book which I hope is better than Juliet Naked by Nick Hornby (another of their selections!).
