Set in the deep south of America in the 50's. The writer's first book. NY times best seller. Amazing! Read it in my book club...everyone loved it.

I second that. Both my book clubs read it, and everyone enjoyed it. Lots to talk about, and different opinions on the main character, too. I like a good book club barney.
