Fantastic! The final book of Darren Shan's The City trilogy has been published

I read the first two books nearly two decades ago (written under his full surname) and went to buy the third, but it hadn't been published. So I waited, and waited, and checked for it and waited some more. Then I read it wouldn't be published because of poor sales of the first two books. In the meantime he wrote a load of children's books and became famous so they re-released the first two books of trilogy again, and finally the third book came out in paperback last week.

I'm looking forward to reading it, I really hope that I'm not going to be horribly disappointed. I'm not sure that any book could live up to such a long period of anticipation.

Any other fans? I recommend the first two books, they are seriously weird but very compulsive reading.

I didn't know he'd written adult books Bran - just looked them up on Amazon they look good - thanks for the recommendation.

I think they may be slightly playing with fire by using the name Darren Shan for his adult stuff because they are adult, if I had a young teen I don't think I would be happy for him/her to read it. On the other hand it was a shame that they didn't reach a wider audience under the original name because they are good. With any luck they will sell well on re-release and he will write some more adult fiction.
