I loved this book.

My favourite book WAS Small Island but I actually think this is better.

Anyone else reading/read it and want to talk about it?

So am I the only one who knew when his book was to be released and ordered it as soon as it was.

I think it's more a case of people being on mumsnet instead of reading no?

glad i saw this - saw she'd got a new one out but didn't want to be disappointed. loved small island but thought the others didn't quite match up.

I like her other books but they are not as good in terms of an interesting setting or the epic feeling of small island and the long song.
Her characters always feel very real probably because they are so flawed.

Read it mololoko and come back here please.

I swithered about buying this because I loved Small Island so much. But as you're also a fan of SI and have endorsed the new book, I shall order it out the library.

I will defintely read this when I get a chance (yes, I'm afraid I am reading the Twilight books at the moment, but that won't take long!). I used to live in Jamaica so have a special interest. I liked Small Island but didn't love it. But still want to read this one.

I LOVED this book - beautifully written, really moving story.
This is absolutely my best read of the year so far.
