Everyone I know is talking about this book. I was about to pick it up today but on closer inspection it looks like just another parenting book.

On reading about this book in last week's papers, I am intrigued and admit that my copy is arriving next week.

The book is American and most of the research quoted seems to come from there. I would add that it isn't much of a parental manual as an opportunity to see the research showing compelling evidence that not everything that seems 'common sense' or 'reasonable' is 'good' psrenting...

However, the conclusion is drawn after each chapter and little is given in the way of actually applying it to day to day events ...
