Just started reading this and it seems a bit pants. Don't have much reading time so don't want to squander it. Has anyone read and enjoyed or otherwise?

I read this one a while ago and remember wondering why I had bothered.

OneOf8 · 09/01/2010 22:10

Not the best book I have read. It was an ok plot, but I found it slow.

SnowWorm · 09/01/2010 22:11

I read that. It was pointless. I struggled on from a sense of duty, but wished I hadn't bothered.

BitOfFun · 09/01/2010 22:12

Have read it and forgotten it. The world will keep turning if you sack it off.

sellthesizzle · 09/01/2010 22:17

I read it last week and enjoyed it.

Will go with the consensus & chuck it! Gave up on The Mermaid's Chair too half way through. Maybe I just don't have any stamina any more.

It's rubbish.

Nothing to do with stamina.

Craperoony.

Don't bother finishing unless you haven't got anything else to read.

TALLULAHBELLE · 11/01/2010 22:19

Abandoned it & started 'What the Dead Know' which I'm enjoying so much more. In fact, off to bed to read it now & quite excited by the thought. Thanks

Found it a bit dull TBH! Plenty better out there!

cheapskatemum · 13/01/2010 15:20

I agree with most others: it was ok, not great. The identity of the perpetrator was obvious way before the end.

Claire236 · 13/01/2010 16:08

Very dull & predictable. Wish I hadn't bothered struggling all the way through it.
