About 60 pages in- it's gripping me in a "do I really want to know where he's going to wank next" sort of way.
Has anyone finished it?
He's done the soundtrack to "The Road" btw.

Oh I didn't know he had a book out. Just looked on Amazon -it's got mixed reviews eh?
it'll be interesting to hear what you think of it.
I love his music, and am looking forward to The Road. I enjoyed that book (if 'enjoyed' is the word).

I love his music too especially the murder ballads.
Finished The Road last week- wonderful.

Have you read And The Ass Saw The Angel -- his first book? Tis great although pretty gory...

I have bought the audiobook (comes with a sountrack cd) of this for Dh for christmas. He's a big fan of Nick Cave musically, will he like it?

Only realised after I'd ordered it that I could just have got him the book!

Well it's very graphic- he wanks everywhere- when his wife is being buried (suicide),in his car (keeps a sock there).... thinks about sex all the time....but he's got a young son so it could develop into a relationship thing.
It's well written and very dark .

Page 160- I'm persevering though it is a bit repetitive.
There is a separate strand re a crazed murderer dressed as the devil who is making his way across the country....should have it finished by Friday.

Finished it- would I recommend it?
If you can cope with the gratuitous sex, then yes,.
It was stragely moving.
Maybe get it from the library !

Read it last weekend. I agree with deaddei about it being strangely moving. You start off despising Bunny, then loathing him, and finally being a bit sympathetic. Especially when you see him through his son's eyes.

The photo of Nick Cave in the cover is particularly disturbing!
