All over the village, app not The God of small things, although that has rain in the first chapter.

Ruled out
A suitable boy
A fine balance
Midnight's children

Anyother suggestions????

it's not Life of Pi, is it?

DarrellRivers · 24/11/2009 20:32

Have just read first pages on amazon and no, it seems to be about sloths mainly

is it red earth pouring rain (something like that)

DarrellRivers · 24/11/2009 20:46

Interestingly a very promising start from the title, but no apparent rain in the first pages

The Hungry Tide?

LaDiDaDi · 24/11/2009 20:48

Is it White Tiger???

I have that somewhere but I can't find it to check.

DarrellRivers · 24/11/2009 20:51

The hungry tide, nor An Equal music, nor Glass Palace

Frustrating isn't it.
I think it's the god of small things, even though she says it isn't

The Rains Came by Louis Bromfield. Great book from what I remember.

'The God of Small Things' by Arundhati Roy starts with a description of monsoon rain...

It's not The Inheritance of Loss is it? That has something about rains in it but not sure if it's at the beginning.
