By Carlos Ruiz Zafon; Has anyone read this? I adored The Shadow Of The Wind, but am really struggling to care about this book.

I have just finished this...it was a huge disappointment after The Shadow of the Wind. I thought it started well but I ended up skipping big chunks of it just to reach the finish. There were lots of things about it that i just found very contrived, especially the relationships between the characters in the book.
