Does anyone adore this book as much as I do? I was 18 (a few years ago) and after browsing the bookshop for at least 3 hours and feeling quite 'meh' about the experience, literally plonked this one off the shelf and went home.

My fave book of all time apart from To Kill A Mockingbird.

Haven't read any other Perlman stuff because I haven't wanted to cloud the perfection, iyswim? But has anyone read any other stuff by him that's equally as enchanting?

I finally got round to reading Seven Types of Ambiguity this summer after having it on my shelf for years - can't believe I left it that long, it was brilliant. Will probably reread it soon, but I have also just bought 3 Dollars (also Perlman) - haven't started it yet, but it certainly won't be sitting on the shelf for as long as the other one....

If you liked Seven Types, you might also enjoy The Lost Dog by Michelle de Kretser - another good Aussie author (sorry, I sound like Amazon there, don't I?)

Yippee!!! Someone replied.

I'm sure if you have read it you will love it - simple as that.

Yippee for you exex and thank you for the recommendation, will be checking that out.

i'd forgotten about "seven types of ambiguity"! i'd read it during a reading frenzy when i was pregnant with ds, and yes, i really enjoyed it.

This is interesting, as it's sitting on my bedroom shelf. I started it, got about a third of the way through and stopped. Not sure why - I was enjoying it, but I wasn't gripped by it. Is it really worth persisting?

Snicker please read it again. Please. Please? Please!

OK. As you asked so nicely, I will give it another go. Am in the middle of something else, but when finished, I'll see if I can pick up where I left off!
