Recommendation for humorous "chick lit" please

My friend's daughter (early 20s) is going into hospital and I'd like to buy her a book to help while away the time. I'm looking for something light and funny, but not about having children / family life. Can anyone recommend something please? Many thanks.

Anything by Marian Keyes is a great yarn, well written and well paced in the world of humorous chick lit. The characters are down to earth and believable. MK is so popular your friends DD may well have read some already so would check before. If not, I really recommend The Other Side Of The Story.

Sparkle Hayter books - about a single childless feminist tv journalist-cum-accidental crimefighter, v funny. The Last Manly Man is one of the best ones.

Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. Starts with "One for the money"

Really funny, doesn't take loads of thinking about if you're not feeling 100%.
