Page turners for first holiday without kids

Sooo I'm escaping for a sunny holiday without the kids and am an avid reader. Anyone recommend some good page turners to wile away those hours on the beach?

what kind of thing do you like?

High brow/low brow?
Romance/thriller/sci-fi/crime?
modern/classic?

The most page-turning thing I have read recently was The Spy Who Came in from the Cold - never read it before and it is goooooooood! Very chilly though.

Twilight is truly page-turning but very, very trashy.
