Seemed to have heard a lot about her recently - can anyone recommend one of her novels as a starting point?

OK I've read several of her books, and yes she's brilliant, an amazing writer. Just randomly, I would recommend 'we were the Mulvaneys' to start with. Excellent book about family life.

I've only read '... mulvaneys' and I did like it.

I would also recommend the Mulvaneys book, that was the first one of hers I read. Also Man Crazy or Black Water are good ones to start with

I would also recommend 'We were the Mulvaneys'.
