I like all sorts of stuff (but no chicklit unless exceptionally clever & funny ...or misery memoirs, ever). Preferably fiction, but am willing to branch out if you sell it to me

Last few books I've read:

Doris Lessing 'Alfred & Emily'
Toni Morrison 'A Mercy'
Helen Oyeyemi 'White is for Witching'
Elizabeth Gaskell 'North & South'
Marilynne Robinson 'Home'

Ta muchly x

Have you read any of the Stieg Larsson (sp ?) books ? The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is the first one. I've only just started it but am impressed so far and its been recommended by quite a few people.

The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory. I never normally read historical literature but this was bought for me and I couldn't put it down.

Mara and Dann - Doris Lessing. Really loved it and her style of writing is so easy to read.

I have just finished this three cups of tea
which isn't my kind of thing normally and you read the back cover and think 'yawn, schools in Pakistan, how very dull' but I thought it was amazing, very inspiring

Greg Mortenson seems like a very nice chappie indeed
