A friend suggested I read this the other day. I thought it was aimed more at "youngsters". Can anyone tell me if it's worth a go please?

I'm saving my reread...don't know whether to wait until our holiday in June or get stuck in now!

Disenchantegg3 · 10/04/2009 20:14

I love them, must've read the first one 5 times

Am currently re-re-rereading breaking dawn

Berrie · 10/04/2009 20:17

Do you read them as quickly second time?

Disenchantegg3 · 10/04/2009 20:19

I do, once Istart a book I find it very hard to put down however many times i have read it.

Ive only read the 2nd book once, Im team Edward you see

Berrie · 10/04/2009 20:24

Mmm, I'm undecided (do I have to decide?).... I guess it'd have to be Edward.

Disenchantegg3 · 10/04/2009 20:25

Woohoo

Berrie · 10/04/2009 20:30

I luuuurve him!

pinkteddy · 10/04/2009 20:32

I think this might be the article you mentioned libra? dangerous liaisons written by Lucy Mangan in the Guardian.

HappyandEiknowit · 10/04/2009 20:33

i LOVED the entire series myself
i think the writing style was how it was due to the audience it is aimed at. i have since read stephenie meyers other book 'the host' and it is written rather well and is aimed at a slightly older audience. i would recommend that one highly aswell (even if it is very slow to start) im re-reading twilight again after finishing the series about 6 weeks ago for the fourth time
i cant wait for my DD to be old enough to read the series
xx ei xx

Disenchantegg3 · 10/04/2009 20:36

EI, i felt EXACTLY the same about the host,

the first 20 pages I was like

but then its really good

EdwardCullensWife · 10/04/2009 20:41

Berrie, I'm shocked that you had to think about whether you're Team Edward

Berrie · 10/04/2009 20:42

Oh interesting...

Good points, well made...but hey, here are much worse influences out there on our daughters.

Will think about this...

EdwardCullensWife · 10/04/2009 20:43

Libra, that comment wasn't petulant or defensive. I'm a journalist. I know how these things work. Just because some writer says something that doesn't make it fact. I know this better than most.

Disenchantegg3 · 10/04/2009 20:44

Mmmm Edward....

First time I read Twilight me martital relations improved ten fold for a good month, lol

EdwardCullensWife · 10/04/2009 20:45

Should I try The Host then? it's either that or re-read the Twilight series for the third time

Disenchantegg3 · 10/04/2009 20:45

me??

went all farmer there....my

Berrie · 10/04/2009 20:45

I bet you are...I remeber how cross you were when she snogged Jacob but I rather liked that bit! It was spoiled however by her 'realising' she was 'in love with Jacob too.'the implication being that because she began to feel passionate about the semi naked hunk who was kissing her that she must be in love...

Berrie · 10/04/2009 20:47

Tee hee, me too though not forasa long as 2 months

Berrie · 10/04/2009 20:48

Oh...a month...not even that ha ha!

EdwardCullensWife · 10/04/2009 20:48

The thing that puts me off Jacob is the fact that he's, what, 15? Just a kid.

Berrie · 10/04/2009 20:49

But he matures...

Berrie · 10/04/2009 20:49

...and he's so physical...

Berrie · 10/04/2009 20:49

...and hot!

EdwardCullensWife · 10/04/2009 20:50

I know but he still pulls that childish stunt in Eclipse. Edward would never stoop so low.

Disenchantegg3 · 10/04/2009 20:50

he has the 'body of a 25 year old' though after he 'changes'.
