Had anyone read this? I have just finished it and it reminded me so much of The Secret History.

A bit easy to predict what was going to happen and I had a few questions at the end,but on the whole twas a good read

Agree, nice to read something which reminded me of tSH. My other favourite is Brideshead Revisited, stylistically but without the grisly murder

I think so - I'm hopeless at remembering titles! Was it in America, about a teacher who taught Latin? If so, yes I really enjoyed it too. I don't know of the Secret History - who's it by?

The Secret History is by Donna Tartt and is superb - if you haven't read it you're lucky - you get to read it first time

Is the Secret History that good? I keep picking it up & putting it down again in the library but maybe I'll give it a go.

Who wrote TLDL? Will try that as well!

Lake of Dead Languages is by Carol Goodman, I love her work, her other books are good too.
