Is anyone going to Hay this year?

I can't wait. We've booked our accommodation and will be at the Festival Wednesday and Thursday.

If the programme is tempting we may also do Tuesday afternoon and Friday morning!

I'm looking forward to the full programme being announced.

Bumping for you.

We were planning to but we are broker than the most broke member of the McBroke family at the moment, so we can't afford it.
Am rather sad about that - I love Hay.

Nope :-( But we are going to the EdBookFest instead :-)

Draft programme on the site today. There are some great names there, and the ones we most want to see/hear are there on the days we're going to be there.

I guess it's going to be quiet this year then, if no-one else is going?!

I've got 9, 11, and 14 yr-old boys leaping around with excitement over the programme.

I'd like to go, can you still get accommodation?

roisin · 29/03/2009 17:34

Accommodation very close is always pricey, though probably some still available. You can also camp.

Last year we stayed at Hereford (Travel Lodge) and it only took about 30 mins to drive in each day.

We camped at Tangerine Fields when we went the year before last. Just a field with Portaloos and a rather basic portable shower unit, but we enjoyed it.
The programme looks great - loads of stuff the children would love. I wish we could go.

Our plan was to camp this year, but the torrential rain last year put us off! So we're staying at the YHA in Kington instead.
