Anyone read it? Would you recommend it?

I tend to read more fiction than non, but am fascinated by Pinter. Any advice appreciated..

Haven't read it but will lurk in case anyone has! I met him once... I doubt his meeting me is documented in the book, however!

Really Hobnob?! How did it come about , if it was me I think I would have been completely nonplussed and made an arse of myself (quite a common occurrence actually )

Well... I was completely nonplussed and made an arse of myself!

I was a student and became a literary groupie! I leapt out at him at the stage door of one of the plays he'd directed (and starred in) and started quizzing him about Beckett influences, post-modernism, blah blah! HIs bodyguard (yes, he had a bodyguard/driver type) jumped between us to protect him - Mr P shooed him away and let me rant on about literary guff! He was charming and said it was just a little too dark, cold and late to be talking about such indepth subjects... He signed my programme, wished me well, and off he went to his car... I was completely overwhelmed and the programme is still very much cherished, decades on... I was so sad when I heard he'd died - really was a literary genius.

lol at literary groupie!

Sounds like he was as charismatic as he appears in interviews. That combined with his sparkling intelligence . He was good friends with Beckett wasn't he?

Oh sod it, I think I'll just order the book & find out for myself...

Yes, I think they used to chat about cricket a lot!
Go on - buy the book! You know you want to! Then tell me whether it's worth me getting!
